What did you think of Reese Witherspoon as June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line"?

I'm watching it now.


She was great, except when she was singing "Wildwood Flower."

What did you think of Reese Witherspoon as June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line"?
Reese was great because she is generally a sweet southern innocent girl and that is exactly what June Carter was. I think Reese is a terrific actress as well!
Reply:I thought she did a good job as June Carter Cash, but not as good as Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash. He was awesome!
Reply:Reese Witherspoon is like a reincarnate of June. The identical features are haunting.
Reply:I thinks actors that play real people in Bio-pics are sponges that profit by mimicking a real person's life, and subsequently make light of the person's hardships and triumphs, all in the name of Hollywood and capitalism.





I liked her in 'Cruel Intentions' though. Very naive. That movie had a wicked ending.

Reply:I think she did a fantastic job, although June Carter Cash is not even close to being as pretty as Reese.

Reply:She was so good, I love the scene when she is driving to Johnny's house crying. Or maybe it is away from his house? Anyway- it's a good scene.

And seriously, she deserved the Oscar and was the best candidate that year.

Reply:i think she did wonderful! the only disappointment with that movie is it was over right before his life really started going. i think it should have been much longer and showed more of his life story cause that wasnt even half of it
Reply:She actually was tremendous. She earned her Oscar. She portrays June so well, it's almost as if she was June.

Reply:Yeah I don't recommend she try to go singer but her acting was marvelous and indeed worth of that Oscar she got for it...Definitely one of my all time favorite actresses!!!
Reply:I think she was exceptional in that movie. I have to admit her singing wasn't all that great, but she isn't a singer, she's an actress. Walk The Line is one of my favorite movies =]

However I was disappointed that they ended the movie so abruptly when the story was just beginning.
