Anyone want to help with a wedding time line???

I need a time line I have tried a couple ways but it seems like I can't get the timing right i don't know how long things take....


So here is what I need......(if I am missing anything please let me know) :-)





Ceremony starts at 5pm till 5:30pm





We are doing pictures before the ceremony so we will only need maybe 15min extra after





the reception is in the same place so it starts right after in the next room





Then there is a sit down diner





our first dance





cake cutting





father daughter dance





flower and garter toss





toast to us





our toast to everyone else





additional info.....


60 guest


no children


ends at midnight


my family is the partying type vs. the mellow type.

Anyone want to help with a wedding time line???
For sure you will need more than 15min after the ceremony for pictures. The reason is after the ceremony, all the family will be so excited and fluttering about. It will take the photographer 15 mins. to be able to get everyone found and situated. This was a very hectic time during my wedding. Everyone wanted to start partying and we had a hard time making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be.

7pm dinner.


7:15Toasts, bestman maid of honor. Blessing from officiate and grace or toast from father. Dinner comes out.


7:40Cake cutting


Dinner ends at head table.


Walk around and greet/thank guests for coming.


8:15After everyone is served and dinner is done. alow 30-45 minuutes. start music in meantime.


8:40Father/daughter dance.


Alow dancing,music cocktails.


9:30garter/bouquet toss


dancing til end

Reply:I'm getting married and having my reception at a hotel, so I planned around check-in time.





We have an hour for our ceremony, then a cocktail hour, and finally, the reception is (I believe) four hours.





Within the reception you'll have the dance, cake cutting, etc. and all that jazz.

Dinner 6:30, program to follow with toasts


Cake cutting 8:00


First dance 8:30, followed by father/daughter dance, etc.


Flower/garter toss 10:30, just when there is a break for late lunch


Then dance til midnight!

5:45: begin pictures





6:30: end pictures - bride/groom go to reception (even though you said you're doing pics before the wedding, it ALWAYS takes longer than you might think....for instance, at my wedding, my brothers %26amp; their families took advantage of the fact that there was a professional photographer %26amp; jumped in ahead of us as we were trying to get photos done so what was supposed to only take 1 hour ended up taking 2!!)





6:30: Introduction of bride %26amp; groom at reception





6:32: Food line to open





7:00: First dance (bride/groom) - this will give your guests time to get through the line %26amp; eat a little first.





7:04: Father/daughter dance





7:09: Mother/son dance





7:13: Toast from parents to guests %26amp; couple





7:17: Toast from couple to guests %26amp; parents





7:22: Cut the cake





8:00: Garter toss





8:10: Flower bouquet toss





From then on - you and your groom can either decide to party for a little while then leave around 10 or stay until the very end. If you stay until the end, don't forget to have your DJ or announcer to let everyone know when you are departing so they can throw the flower petals/ bird seed or whatever you've chosen.
