Line in the sand?

Does anyone know the name of those picture lines in South America? The ones where if you look at them from the sky, they are giant, ancient, pictures of things like flowers, and animals?

Line in the sand?
The old professor says: Indeed, they are scientifically called geoglyphs meaning "earth pictures". They are also known as the Nasca Lines (named after the region where they are located). We still are speculating on their reason to exist. Suggestions include landing places for aliens, pictures to appease the gods, etc. The "artists" are long gone and any records of their methods and reasons seem to have disappeared with them.

Other ones exist also elsewhere in Peru.
Reply:They are called geoglyphs, I think some are located in Peru in one of the deserts.
