What low growing perrenial to use to line walkway? Flowers all summer and/or evergreen preferred. Zone 6/7.

Annuals would look great, but I do not want the yearly chore and expense of planting them. The areas get full sun. The front gets morning sun and the back gets afternoon sun.

pachysandra makes a very nice ground cover, gets full , has small white flowers and is an evergreen
Reply:a low growing ice plant is great, I have them everywhere, they stay green and flower great in the spring. They like lots of water, but will still grow with little water. also, you can cut them back to stay inside an area, or you can just let them grow.

Reply:Rock cress is an ideal perennial for your situation. It has four-petaled flowers in white, rose or purple and flowers in early spring; grows to 6-8 inches tall and 8-12 inches wide. Full sun to light shade.





Plumbago is another choice that has deep blue flowers blooming mid to late summer and even into fall. Grows 6-12 inches tall and 12-18 inches wide. Also known as Leadwort.





Two-row sedum (sedum spurium) is 2-6 inches high and 1-2 feet wide with big, rounded flowerheads ranging from rose pink to white. Blooms in summer and is very tough.





There is another type of sedum that produces tiny yellow flowers during summer that is nice. Sorry, I don't know the name of it, but it grows low to the ground; I have it and it looks cute along stones and walkways.
Reply:I really like Creeping Phlox or Periwinkle. Both are low to the ground. They are beautiful, but they only flower in the Spring. I don't think many (any?) perennials flower constantly. If you're looking for bush, Boxwoods stay green all year round.
